Male Character vs Female Character
I'd like to make this a poll, but I'm not seeing an option to do so.
Anyway, What is your gender, in relation to the gender you make your characters?
1) I'm Male, with Male characters
2) I'm Male, with Female Characters
3) I'm Female, with Male characters
4) I'm Female, with Female characters
I was just thinking about this because I noticed when I was looking through a thread of monk armor, 95% of all the characters were female. I am positive that 95% of the people playing GW aren't female.
Just a question out of curiosity.

I'm male with both male and female characters. An option like that would've been nice.
And I think polls are only able to be made by mods, Gaile and Elite Gurus.

Warrior - Male
Monk - Male
Ele - Female
Necro - Female
Rit - Female
Ranger - Female
I check out what armor I'd like as my final one and choose that way. Most of the male armors suck...

Male. I ordinarily create female characters in RPGs, not sure why but I always like playing as one. Maybe for the same reason I don't usually play as a human, I always design a character who is not like me in appearance in a singleplayer game. But in an MMO, where it's all online, I want to make sure people know what gender I am in life.

Inserting my own option.
-Male with both male and female characters.
1) Male Derv/ which is my main.
2) Male Ranger/E.
3) Male N/Me
4) Male A/W
5) Female Mo/Me
6) Female Me/
7) Female Rt/Me
8) Female D/W
I play them as characters, hence the RPG aspect of the MMO. Each with it's own personality traits. I decided early on, when I started making multiple characters, I'd split the gender line 50/50 to provide more personality complexes and character traits.

Me = Male
Chars across 3 accounts = 20 Female, 3 Male
Bluntly put, I'm an adult male, and the vast majority of male characters in this game are either ugly in the extreme, or fabulously effeminate. I'd rather look at a girl than either of those.

I'm male and have a mix of both. For some professions the models for one gender or another just look awful to me, so that largely determines things. I usually try to make a male character and if I can't make one I think looks cool I'll switch to female. I've got a male monk, paragon (yes, I managed to make a male paragon that doesn't suck, I'm amazed too), and elementalist and a female necro, warrior, and mesmer.

See, I'm amazed. I make the character the way I like it, only males though. Then, I play the game for months on end without every really looking at my character again. I'm watching whats going on everywhere else on the screen. I focus more on the game around me than my character. For example, with my 55 monk, I'm NEVER watching him. I'm always watching my enchantments. Then, when I'm running around, I'm watching the radar too see whats coming up.
I wish people would play the gender they really are. Otherwise it makes me feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of 13 year old perverts. No offense.
God I'm about to get flamed.

I usually choose male chars unless there is something i dont like, for instance male elementalist is a bit ...strange and i dont like it, so i go female ele. Male monks are chubby and have strange thick necks, so female there too. Chose a female assasin because i somehow think the silent but deadly role suits females better, etc...

Male, with 14/15 male chars. I feel more at ease with male characters since I'm a male, and looking at a man's butt whenever I play doesn't bother me since I'm gay x]. Plus I like the armors more on males, with a few exceptions.
The only char that's female on my main account's roster is a warrior - I didn't like the war armors until recently (NF made me regret not having a male one, and EotN even more...) at the point I made another war, male this time. But I use my female one more.

I make a character whatever gender the particular class has better face / hair / armor combinations. And for some classes, I have a both female and a male character.

Im male and my PVE characters are male as they use my name. However, I made a few female chracters for PVP, obviously with female names.
While playing RA and stuff I never once mention my RL sex at all and type as I normally do. People keep on posting the 'OMG your a guy playing a girl how gay OMG' kind of shit that put me off playing female characters anymore.
Ok, so I loved having my build test character as a Chinese looking canthan female named 'Tes Tinn', pun intending for 'testing'. But I outgrew it with the idiots picking up that I was a male with a female character that liked to poke fun and abuse at me.

are we counting mules???
FEmale with mostly female characters, however; I do have a tyrian male monk (one of my first 4 toons who is over 2 now), and a male rit. I have also been toying with a male dervish, but he is still a mule for now.
so:
female eles 3 (one is pre-sear)
female monks 2 (finally found a hair style and face I liked in cantha)
male monk 1 (created cause the 'bun' hairstyle didnt do it for me)
female mesmers 3 (one from each chapter)
female necro 1
female paragon 1
female rit 1
male rit 1
female ranger 1
female warrior 1
(mules 2 necro ladies, 1 female ele, 1 female monk, 1 female paragon, one female sin, 1 male dervish-tbd)

I'm male with 5 female and 5 male characters.
There's nothing sexually, ethically or otherwise 'wrong' about creating a female character.
Part of the reason for making females is that I don't like the appearance of some males [i.e. the male warrior /puke]. It's also much more pleasing to look at the back-end of a female, is it not?
